Canon EOS 7D

With the release of Canon EOS 7D, a new era of filmmaking is upon. On average motion picture cameras cost $100,000 and up. The Canon 7D shatters that cost structure, coming in at $1,699. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would opt for filming on a $100,000 camera system when there are tons of affordable options, capable of shooting HD or beyond.
In todays filmmaking climate I wouldn't spend more than $10,000 on a single movie camera. Low budget filmmaking just added another weapon to it's arsenal in the form of the 7D. How will filmmakers use this camera? That is something I can't wait to see. It's predecessor, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, has been used on such project as Harry Potter and the tv series 24.
